EXPOSED: The "Bestie"

Everyone has heard of the term "Bestie." It is very commonly used by girls as a title given to a person they consider to be a very close friend. Don't get it confused with a Best Friend. Although it may sound like it, a "Bestie" is not a Best Friend. Since most people don't feel the need to say this and/or choose to ignore it, I will be the one to put it out there...Now, when a girl labels another girl her "Bestie", it is usually to indicate that they spend a lot of time together and/or they have a lot of things in common that they can share. This is why they tend to have multiple "Besties." It allows girls to have groups of friends they can hang with depending on the event or situation. Unlike a Best Friend, a "Bestie" is not expected to be permanent in their lives. When conflict arises with a "Bestie", it is usually much easier to cut them off than it would be with a Best Friend due to the fact that one has been through much more with a Best Friend. I would be more costly to lose them than a "Bestie." NOW...When a girl makes a GUY their "Bestie", it could be for a couple reasons: the guy maybe a kind person who gives her advice but also finds her attractive while she doesn't and to avoid thats hassle, labels him the "Bestie" to make him feel some type of importance...and so he can fall back, which doesn't always work. If one was to take a survey, 98% of guys would have sex with their female "Bestie" of the opportunity arose. They may also use the "Bestie" title, while in a relationship, to give to a male they may somewhat like but cant pursue, so use it as a way to keep him close by and be allowed to speak to and/or chill with by their significant other...After reading this, you can agree or disagree. There are options right under this post...but if you do disagree, think about it...why did you make that person a "Bestie" rather than just a friend?...(o_O)
